Top 5 Lip Filler Myths

Fillers products vary a lot! The only products use at Eden Clinic are the highest quality medically certified by Teoxane. These products are designed to integrate into tissues, causing minimal inflammation (swelling) and leaving hydrated, natural looking results.

1. “Lip fillers are horribly painful!”

Its true that there are lots of nerves in our lips and they can be a bit sensitive. Thats why we use a local anaesthetic (numbing) cream to make it more comfortable. The filler we use (Teoxane) also contains a lidocaine which is a numbing agent. This will make the procedure much more comfortable.

2.”Lip fillers give you a ‘trout pout’!”

This can be true but my favourite saying is, “The best injectable, is undetectable!”.

There are lots of techniques for filling lips, some create the eversion that can give the impression of the famous ‘trout pout’ that most of us don’t like. This can very easily be avoided by using more suitable placement techniques and also by Ising a filler product that integrates nicely with your lips and just gives then a fresh hydrated look!

3. “The COVID19 vaccine makes lip fillers lumpy!”

Three trial participants out of 15,184 people who received at least one dose of Moderna’s mRNA-1273 vaccine experienced dermal filler-related reactions. We encourage people to leave 3 weeks between any injectable treatment and any vaccine, just to be safe!

4. “My lips will look odd and deflated if I stop getting treatment!”

Lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. It is a gel which is metabolized by our bodies over time. If you choose to stop having fillers then your lips will return to their original shape and size. Our lips lose volume and definition over time, however, this is a result of ageing and not a consequence of lip fillers.
