Skin Tightening, Body Contouring and Cellulite Treatment.

The Eden Clinic is proud to introduce the Accent™ - a new wave in Radio Frequency technology. As we all know, no matter how hard we try, there are certain areas such as the jaw line, around the eyes, upper arms, along with cellulite and excess stomach fat, that just do not respond to diet and exercise. At the Eden Clinic, we have spent some considerable time researching a solution to these problem areas, and were extremely encouraged when we came across a new Radio Frequency (RF) device called Accent™. How does the treatment work? Although RF energy has been used in surgery for many years, recent advancements have made possible the selective delivery of energy to the deep dermis and sub-dermal layers while protecting the epidermis. The Accent utilises radio frequency, which allows varying depths of fat to be attacked (technically known as volumetric thermotherapy). The radio waves penetrate deeply into the skin at depths of 2 to 20mm causing a vibration of water molecules, which in turn generates heat.

The area is heated to between 40 and 44 degrees and held at that temperature for up to two minutes. The temperature is constantly monitored using a laser thermometer. The heat causes contraction and remodelling of the collagen fibres within the skin giving a plumper, more rejuvenated appearance. It may also cause destruction of fat cells and increased blood flow and drainage to the lymphatics.

Which areas can be treated?
The treatment is suitable for facial skin as it enables remodelling of the jaw line and the loss of fatty tissue in the neck/jowl area. It can also help reduce the nose to mouth lines and ‘sad’ lines leading down from the corners of the mouth. The deeper penetration regime is suitable for the treatment of cellulite (legs and buttocks), upper arm fat and abdominal contouring.

Although the treatment is not designed as a weight loss tool, patients often report that they feel as though they have lost weight after treatment

What does the treatment feel like?
During the treatment the patient feels a deep, soothing heat in the targeted area, similar to deep tissue massage. Unlike some cosmetic procedures, many patients comment that the treatment is quite pleasant.

Is the treatment safe?
There are generally no side effects or post treatment downtime associated with this treatment and it can be used on all skin types.
